Mission Motors Unveils Worlds Fastest Production Electric Motorcycle
The all-electric Mission One sportbike estimates a top speed of 150 mph and a 150 mile range. The Mission One is out to compete against gasoline powered sportbikes. Additionally, the bike features a recharge time of less than 2 hours using a 240v outlet(8 hours off 110v), Regenerative Braking, 100% Torque without shifting, and top line components. The Mission One features adjustable throttle maps, adjustable regenerative breaking, and ride data acquisition wirelessly linked to your computer. These are features that were in the past only available for the MotoGP motorcycles. With the Mission One, drivers are now able to control the way their vehicle behaves with unprecedented sensitivity for a production vehicle.
Mission Motors founders, Forrest North, Edward West and Mason Cabot, have developed a proprietary high energy lithium ion battery pack specifically for the Mission One. The unique design of the motorcycle was done by Yves Behar and his fuseproject team. Together these two elements make a competitive electric motorcycle destined to the company motto gRedefine the world of performance motorcycles. Build a zero emissions vehicle with a definitive new style and enough performance to beat gasoline. Prove to the world that the future of performance is electric.h
Itfs currently scheduled for delivery in 2010.
High Performance Electric Motor
Mission motorcyclesf induction motor provides over 100 foot-pounds of torque. Unlike an engine, however, the torque curve on our electric is completely flat. The rider feels 100 foot-pounds of torque at a standstill, at 60 mph, and everywhere in between. Gasoline motorcycle require multiple gears in order to provide power at different speeds. The torque curve on our electric motor means that a Mission motorcycle can achieve gasoline sportbike performance with no gears. And all that power comes in a package about the size of a soccer ball.
Technology
At Mission, we are using technology to build a smarter ride. On a Mission Motorcycle, the onboard computer does more than run the bike. It comes fully equipped with data acquisition system and wireless communication capabilities. On a Mission Motorcycle, riders can capture ride data in real time and wirelessly download that data to a computer to share with friends. Gone are the days of tuning your engine with a wrench. On a Mission Motorcycle, you tune your ride in minutes with your laptop computer.
