Thanks for sharing this Jon. It's probably best to leave this to someone whose forte is suspension set-up though huh? I got my set-up wrong according to the guys at Metric Method when I had my suspension set-up after I tried doing myself Hahahha

Matt went to Lee's Cycle on Wednesday afternoon to get the suspension set-up on his 600RR and they didn't do anything to it! They just said that he was too heavy for that bike and he needs new springs for his forks etc etc.........I dont get it, he only weighs in at a hefty 190 lbs. Is he really too heavy for his bike? They couldve set SAG at least!

Reminder to the newer guys:
*Make it out to the track when you can *When you do make it out there, invest $30 for a PROPER suspension set-up -this will help you to concentrate on learning to ride properly -going faster will come easily and naturally -your tires will last longer -your bike will be more stable -you'll get better feedback on what your bike is doing during your ride

Improper Suspension played a big part in my crash at Buttonwillow Feb 15; too hard of a suspension setting on a tight and bumpy track.
Improper Suspension setting at Mar 15 Saturday Practices at Willow Springs WSMC weekend kept me 10 seconds off my pace. I ended tearing up a very expensive Dunlop 211 and I was riding harder as Ive had to ride the same bike at the same track in the past and was nowhere near my lap times.
Finally, a PROPER suspension setting (Thanks AL) on Sunday allowed me to ease up on my riding and finally lap 10 seconds faster on Sunday Race as Ive managed all day on Saturday practice sessions.
I cant stress proper suspension settings enough. If you have the time and money to get things done to your bike, have work done on your suspension rather than power upgrades and/or fancy paint jobs.

We need to learn how to setup SAG at least. Rebound and Compression is rider dependent anyways.

Hey Al, Try riding your bike with your current suspension set-up for the first 2 sessions then get your suspension done afterwards. First session wont really count as your suspension wont really be up and running properly especially if its a cold morning. The second session should have your fluids warmed up and viscous. In doing it this way, you will know and you will be able to feel what certain adjustments do what to the bike. Get a good base on your suspension Front and Rear, then adjust one thing at a time so your can pin-point which part of your suspension requires fine-tuning for that certain track, in your case, it's Streets of Willow, for this weekend. Good Luck out there, have fun! It will be the perfect time to exercise the Drills you recently learned from Ca. Superbike School. ;D

Is there another place in Diego that does it if Lee's won't? I don't plan to track for a while. Still learning the streets and twisties.
